Symphony Unit
Each year, 4/5 grade students participate in the Link Up program created by Carnegie Hall. Students learn about the composers, the history of the piece, geographical information, etc. as well as singing and/or playing along with the symphony during their visit. These pieces will also be featured during our Spring Concerts.
Recorder Karate Unit
Students are expected to practice at home regularly and test up to the songs we have practiced together in class. Students will receive a colored belt to hang on their recorder for every song they play correctly. Black Belt earners will receive a certificate at the concert!
STUDENTS HAVE A CLASS RECORDER TO PLAY AT SCHOOL AND WILL RECEIVE A BOOK WITH THE TEST SONGS.
YOU ARE ENCOURAGED TO PURCHASE A RECORDER AND THE FULL BOOK WITH CD FOR HOME PRACTICE.
